Deforestation is the loss of forests and jungles due to the impact of human activities or natural causes, Forests represent a source of food, medicine and fuel for more than one billion people
The reasons for indiscriminate logging are many, but most are related to money or the farmers' need to support their families. The underlying driver of deforestation is agriculture. Farmers cut down forests to make more space for their crops or for grazing livestock. Large numbers of small farmers often clear hectares of wooded land, to feed their families, by logging and burning in a process called 'slash and burn agriculture'.Not all deforestation is the consequence of intentionality. Some are caused by human and natural factors such as forest fires and intensive grazing, which can inhibit the growth of new tree shoots.
